Cântăreaţa de operă austro-suedeză Margareta Sjöstedt, membră a prestigiosului ansamblu al Operei Vieneze de Stat, a murit în capitala austriacă la vârsta de 88 de ani, transmite joi APA, pe baza unui comunicat al Wiener Staatsoper.

 

Născută la 17 noiembrie în Suedia, Margareta Sjöstedt a urmat studiile Conservatorului regal din Stockholm şi Şcolii de Muzică de la Viena, scrie Agerpres.ro.

 

A urcat pentru prima dată pe scena Operei din Viena la 4 septembrie 1956 în rolul lui Cherubino din Nunta lui Figaro (Mozart), un rol pe care urma să-l interpreteze de 97 de ori în Opera vieneză.

 

Tot la Staatsoper a interpretat rolul Compozitorului din 'Ariadna la Naxos' (Richard Strauss), Dorabella din 'Cosi fan tutte' (Mozart) sau Suzuki din 'Madama Butterfly' (Giacomo Puccini).

Pe parcursul îndelungatei sale cariere (46 de roluri în 1.015 reprezentaţii numai la Staatsoper), Margareta Sjöstedt a avut colaborări şi la operele din Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, Lisabona sau la Festivalul de la Salzburg.

The Swedish contralto, Margarete Sjöstedt, received her training from 1947 to 1951 at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and from 1951 to 1953 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, as well as at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna. Her teachers were A. von Hillern-Dunbar, Ragnar Hultén, Elisabeth Rado and Erik Werba. During her studies she sang in Stockholm Chamber Choir and as a vocalist in a Jazz Trio.



In 1951 Margarete Sjöstedt gave in Stockholm her first Lieder recital. Her first engagement was at the Stadttheater of Basel from 1953 to 1955. From 1955 to 1953 she was active at the Landestheater Saarbrücken, since 1956 she was continuously a member of the Wiener Staatsoper. In over 1,000 performances there she sang an abundance of roles from the entire opera repertoire and proved herself as one of the most reliable artists of the ensemble. At the same time she had important successes as Lieder and oratorio singer. She appeared at the operas of Madrid, Lisbon, Dublin and at the Deutschen Opernhaus Berlin. In 1958, 1964 and 1965 she participated at the Salzburg Festival, in 1966 at the Baroque Festival of Schloß Drottningholm in her Sweden homeland.

Née le 17 novembre 1923 à Stockholm, elle avait entamé ses études de chant au Conservatoire royal de Stockholm et les avait poursuivies à Vienne. Après avoir fait ses débuts d'artiste lyrique à Bâle, en Suisse, Margareta Sjöstedt est montée pour la première fois sur la scène du Staatsoper à Vienne le 4 septembre 1956 dans le rôle de Chérubin des "Noces de Figaro" de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, un rôle qu'elle interprétera à pas moins de 97 reprises à l'Opéra de la capitale autrichienne. Au Staatsoper, elle avait aussi brillé dans les rôles du Compositeur ("Ariane à Naxos" de Richard Strauss), Dorabella ("Cosi fan tutte" de Mozart) ou encore Suzuki ("Madame Butterfly" de Giacomo Puccini). Tout au long de sa carrière (46 rôles dans 1.015 représentations rien qu'au Staatsoper), qui s'est terminée le 9 juin 1982 sur la scène de l'Opéra de Vienne dans le rôle de la Deuxième femme ("La visite de la vieille dame" de Gottfried von Einem), Margareta Sjösted s'est également produite aux opéras de Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, Lisbonne, au Festival de Salzbourg et, comme chanteuse de lieder, dans des concerts à Vienne, Londres et Paris.
